THE COMANSI TEAM LEAVES THE ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE BEHIND AND FACES ALS – 02/09/2014

The Comansi team leaves the ice water bucket challenge behind and faces ALS by taking part in the UltraEbre Swim Marathon to help Jano Galán become extraordinary.

The UltraEbro took place last 30 August 2014 in Amposta; a 30,830m test that is an international reference for its high competitive nature and its will to raise awareness about ultra fondo swimming in open waters.

A very special team was among the participants: the Comansi team, consisting of the managing director of the company, Daniel Rossinés and his brother Marc Rossinés, director of the Bellaterra Club. The Rossinés took part in the UltraEbro this year and completed the course after 5 hours and 23 minutes. The goal: to collect funds to help Jano Galán, affected by Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS*).

Jano is a young 37 year old person with three children and a wife.He was diagnosed ALS in 2012.

“I thought I was a normal guy, had my children and wife, my family and friends.I also had a job, my hobbies, my projects, my desires… I have everything, but I didn’t know.
Now I have been diagnosed ALS.I am 37 years old and will die soon.
But I will not accept it.I want to be extraordinary.”

ALS has recently become popular thanks to the ice bucket challenge that has enjoyed tremendous media repercussion and helped to raise awareness about ALS.
In mid August, Comansi also joined this challenge and got involved to raise awareness of the disease affecting Jano Galán.

But Comansi wanted to take it further, face the challenge and help people suffering it every day.The objective of the UltraEbro Swim Marathon started in July collecting funds to get the €4,500 that Jano needed to purchase an adapted wheelchair to make his daily life a little easier.Comansi closed the challenge on 1 September with a total fund raising of €7,263.
